This is the first of a number of messages we will circulate about the DISCO meeting in Dublin and how to
get here. An extract from the WAC programme has been uploaded to this site (download it here) with
general travel and other information you may find of use and a number
of maps to help you get to the residences on campus. I have highlighted
some useful information in yellow but you may find some of the other
information also of interest.
Those of you who attend WAC and arrive by plane on Saturday 28 and
Sunday 29th of June should look for a WAC sign in the Airport Arrivals
Hall. Here there will be WAC representatives to help guide you to the
most convenient transport to the university campus. In general we are
recommending that all of you travel by the Aircoach bus service that
runs directly from the airport across the city to outside the
university gates. This is an express coach service with There are a number of routes so please make sure
you get the 'AIRPORT to LEOPARDSTOWN / SANDYFORD' bus from the airport.
The bus stop outside the University is called the 'Montrose Hotel'
after the adjacent hotel of that name. If you are in doubt please ask
the driver to stop at the Montrose and they will announce the stop when
you arrive. The fare is 7 euro one-way or 12 euro return and the
journey can take up to 1 hour at busy times. There are full details of
routes, timetables and costs on the company website at http://www.aircoach.ie and I have
included some of the more important details in the attached PDF.
We hope to be able to meet at least some of you at the bus stop when
you arrive so it would be very helpful to have details of you travel
arrangements. Can we ask the everyone send use details of the dates and
times of your arrival and departures indicating whether the times are
to and from the Airport or the University. I realise some of you have
already provided this information but it would be most useful to get
final confirmation.
Best wishes,
Conor McDermott and Patrizia La Piscopia
